Iga Swiatek reached the quarterfinals of the tournament in Rome, beating Vekic
The first racket of the world, Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek, reached the quarterfinals of the clay tournament of the WTA-1000 category, which takes place in Rome (Italy). In the match of the fourth round of the competition, Iga Swiatek defeated the 21st seeded representative of Croatia, Donna Vekic, with a score of 6:3, 6:4. The meeting lasted 1 hour 35 minutes.
Iga Swiatek filed right through three times, made one double fault and used all three chances to take the opponent’s serve. Vekic filed two aces, made a mistake three times on the pitch and converted one break point.
The score in the personal confrontation between Swiatek and Vekic in official matches was 4-0 in favor of the Polish tennis player.
For reaching the semi-finals of the tournament in Rome, Sviontek will play with the seventh seeded Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan.
