5 Paula Badosa withdrew from the US Open due to injury




Former world number two, Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa withdrew from the US Open women’s singles due to injury. This was announced by the organizers on the official page of the competition on Twitter.

Her place in the main grid will be taken by a lucky loser or an athlete who has passed the qualification.

The hard tournament of the “Grand Slam” category will start in New York on Monday, August 28.

Earlier, the athlete withdrew from the tournament of the WTA-1000 category, which was held in Montreal (Canada). She did not perform after Wimbledon due to back problems.

In April of last year, Badosa rose to the second line of the WTA rating, now she occupies the 46th line of the rating.
