The Czech tennis player, the tenth racket of the world, Petra Kvitova, will not perform at the WTA-1000 category tournament, which will be held in Rome (Italy) from May 8 to May 21, 2023.
“Unfortunately, my right leg still hurts me, so after consulting with my team, I made the difficult decision to withdraw from the tournament in Rome. I will miss the beautiful city, the Italian fans and wish you all a great week at the tournament. I will work hard to be ready for the French Open,” wrote the athlete on the page in the social network.
Recall that in 2023 Kvitova already won the WTA-1000 category tournament. She is the current champion of the Miami competition, held in March of this year.
