The sixth seeded at the ATP Rolex Paris Masters tournament, Dane Holger Rune, won in the second round over Austrian Dominic Thiem, who had made it out of qualification – 6:4, 6:2. The match took place on the center court of the Bercy stadium and lasted 1 hour 31 minutes.
The Dane made six aces, made three double faults and converted three of six break points. The Austrian has four missed serves, four double faults and not a single converted break point out of five. In total, Rune won 63 points in the match, and Thiem won 51.
In the third round, the Dane will play with the German Daniel Altmaier. They had never previously met at an ATP tournament, but played one match at the Challenger in 2021, where Rune won in three sets.
