Paula Badosa: It’s easier to play in any other tournament than in Madrid

Former second racket of the world Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa shared her expectations from the meeting with American Corey Gauff in the match of the third round of the WTA-1000 clay tournament in Madrid (Spain).

“It’s easier to play in any other tournament than here, but I try to be ready for anything. Perhaps in recent years I have not played in the best way, but it happens otherwise. I can adapt, adapt my game. But in Madrid it is always difficult for me.

Cory and I played a few times. She is a strong tennis player, aggressive, with a great backhand. Her physical form is excellent, but I think tactics will decide the outcome of our match. Gauff is good on clay. Last year she reached the final of the French Open. But I like these matches. I know it’s a challenge and I’m really looking forward to playing Gauff in front of my home crowd,” Badosa was quoted as saying by ASAP Sports.
