Tennis legend Rod Laver talks about his Australian Open favorite
Former tennis player, 85-year-old winner of 11 Grand Slam titles, Rod Laver spoke about who will win the 2024 Australian Open.
“Australian Open trophy engravers have probably been told they can start engraving Novak Djokovic’s name as it would take a miracle to stop him winning the title this year.
Djokovic has all the shots in his arsenal and knows exactly when he can use them and when he can’t. He even knows at what point in these five sets he will lose, and I think: “Is he really deceiving us? Because I could win it two-two-two (6:2, 6:2, 6:2).”
If someone miraculously plays their best tennis and wins, they can start putting some of their initials on the trophy now,” ESPN quoted Laver as saying.
Let us remind you that in the fourth round the opponent of the world’s first racket Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open bracket will be the French tennis player Adrian Mannarino (19th racket in the ATP world ranking). The fight will take place today (5:30 Moscow time).
