The 22-time Grand Slam champion, the first racket of the world, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, during his opening match, expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the clay court at the Masters series tournament in Rome (Italy). In particular, Djokovic was unhappy with the fact that the clay was going into piles on the back line, where the players were constantly moving.
“Court is just a nightmare. A complete nightmare,” Djokovic told the referee on the tower.
Recall that in his opening match in Rome, the defending champion Djokovic defeated the representative of Argentina Thomas Martin Etcheverri with a score of 7:6 (7:5), 6:2. Novak’s next opponent will be former world No. 3 Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (26).
The prize fund of the competitions in Rome amounted to € 7,705,780. They will last until May 21st.
