Swiatek overtook Sabalenka and became the leader in the WTA Championship race

The world’s first racket from Poland, Iga Swiatek, took the lead in the updated WTA Championship Race rankings. After winning the WTA-1000 tournament in Indian Wells (USA), the Polish athlete rose from third position to first, displacing Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka from there.

The third racket of the world, American Cori Gauff, rose from 7th place to 5th. Indian Wells finalist Maria Sakkari from Greece made an impressive leap, moving from 41st place to 14th.
