Semifinalist of Wimbledon 2021, 11th racket of the world, 26-year-old Polish tennis player Hubert Hurkacz (height 196 cm) was the first since 2019 on the ATP tour to perform more than 1000 aces in a season.
This happened at the Masters series tournament in Paris (France). In the second round of the competition, Hurkac beat Spanish representative Roberto Bautista Agut with a score of 6:3, 6:2. In this match, Hubert served 19 times, bringing his total number of aces in 2023 to over 1000 (1003).
Note that the last tennis players who managed to achieve such a feat were Americans John Isner (209 cm) and Reilly Opelka (211 cm) in 2019. Since 1991 (since that time statistics have been kept), only nine players have served 1000 aces at least once per season.
