– Djokovic: main goal is to finish the season as world No. 1 player
The first racket of the world, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, outlined his main goal on the eve of the start of the ATP Final Tournament in Turin (Italy).
“My biggest goal right now is to finish the season as No. 1 in the world, so hopefully I can achieve that. I need one win, so I hope that happens. And, of course, I would like to win the tournament. But this is the goal, and then we’ll see what happens,” the ATP press service quotes Djokovic as saying.
To remain on the first line of the Association of Tennis Professionals rankings, Djokovic only needs to win one match at the tournament. If his main pursuer, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, suffers at least one defeat, Djokovic will also remain in first place in the rankings. The final championship in Turin starts on November 12.
